Dave Philpot has been working in the music industry for almost three decades and is a well established in the field of music synchronisation.Â

Dave prides himself on supporting independent artists and labels to gain a foothold in the world of synchronisation which can feel dominated by Major labels and Publishers. He is currently at his own sync venture Republic Of Sync, Dave is working with labels and artists including The Charlatans, DJ Fresh, Jalapeno, Jamie Records, BBK, Full Time Hobby, Loose Records, Breakbeat Kaos, Skint, Curtis Harding, Aqualung, Bodega, Fatboy Slim, Hælos, Freemasons and Tim Burgess.

Dave began his career as co-Director of Cup Of Tea Records, a Bristol-based Trip Hop label that commissioned the first ever Portishead remix, before moving to Brighton’s Skint Records as Licensing Manager, shortly before Fatboy Slim entered the UK Top 40 for the first time.Â

In this role, Dave was responsible for helping Fatboy Slim enter the Guinness Book Of Records for the greatest number of adverts running at one time with a single artist’s music as a sound-bed. This experience led him to take the role of Label Manager with a focus on licensing and music synchronisation.

Following his success in synchronisation at Skint, in 2008 Dave launched his own synchronisation service Sync Inc with long-time friend Matt Kaleda. The company undertook music consultancy, supervision and acted as sync agents, covering all of the vital operations for synchronisation. Representing independent labels as well as established artists, Dave worked with high profile clients including Channel 4, BBC, Nike Bacardi, Barclays, Sony Playstation, Rover and Hugo Boss. He also worked closely with the music supervisor for the popular television series Luther, starring Idris Elba, and UK film Blitz starring Jason Statham, David Morrisey and Paddy Considine.

In 2012 Philpot started Believe Sync for the French Digital distributor Believe Digital, where he worked with their extensive catalogue for synchronisation and built a comprehensive global synchronisation service for their clients.

In 2015 moves to Brighton and sets up Republic of Sync An independent Sync Agency representing Labels, Artist, Publishers and Management Companies. Working across all media including trailers, video games, advertising, television, fashion shows and films. With the aim to help people find the right music and bring their moving pictures to life, with existing and especially composed music of all genres. Ranging from 1950’s Crooners, 60‘s and 70’s Soul, Funk Rock and Disco to the Height of UK Drum and Bass from the Noughties and 90’s Big beat, Punk classics and an array of quality Indie and Rock.
